deductions/opt out.

deductions: So, Mycroft is a Holmes, and like his more famous younger brother, he is intelligent to a baffling degree, able to reason many things from given information including information about people that they don't realize they are giving off. This is not a form of mind reading, and is wholly dependent on what Mycroft himself already knows about the world and has experienced. He's smart, but he is by no means a god - he can and will explain his process when asked. Still, he does yield a shocking amount of insight and logical leaps that can read as almost magic if one is unaware of his capabilities.

What this means for other people is fairly simple. Deducing like this is something Mycroft needs to actively engage and do, and therefore won't just pop up in a thread without warning. Should this happen, I'll make sure to mention in my meta-text that he's doing it, but I'll also reach out to you to confirm what he can gain and deduce from a character. I treat this aspect of him as opt-in, and never wish to overstep for the comfort of my fellow characters.

opt out: If you'd like to opt out of interacting with Mycroft entirely, leave a note with your journal names that you would like me to avoid. Comments are screened.
